What this program covers

Southern Maine Community College's Welding Academy is a short-term (not degree/certificate) training program lasting 3 weeks, covering out-of-position T-joint and groove welds, vertical welds, stick and flux core welding, oxy cutting, plasma cutting, and non-destructive/destructive testing. It is free to trainees and pays a $500/week attendance incentive, held at the SMCC Midcoast Campus in Brunswick. General Dynamics Bath Iron Works conducts job interviews with qualified applicants upon completion. A separate welding-courses page also exists on the site.
