What this program covers

Western Technology Center offers a Welder/Fitter program at its Burns Flat campus (960 contact hours) plus a separate Welding program at its Sayre campus. Coursework includes SMAW, GMAW, GTAW (plate, pipe, aluminum, and stainless steel), FCAW, plasma and air carbon arc cutting, blueprint reading, and metal preparation. Students can pursue AWS Certified Welder status and CTTC-issued process credentials (cutting process operator, SMAW/GMAW/FCAW/GTAW welder); tuition is waived for high school students and financial aid may be available for qualifying adults.
