What this program covers

Bismarck State College's Welding program is a one-year, on-campus program offered as an Associate in Applied Science, Program Certificate, or (through fall 2026 only) a diploma, with admission occurring in the fall. It covers oxyacetylene, gas tungsten arc, flux cored arc, shielded metal arc, and gas metal arc welding, plus plasma arc cutting, carbon arc cutting, and tube and pipe welding, using a modern, well-equipped lab. Students develop skills to pass the AWS Certified Welder test in shielded metal arc welding. Fisher Industries offers a tuition assistance program for students in this program.
