What this program covers

Northeast Community College offers a 16-week, 16-credit Welding certificate and a two-semester, 32-credit Welding diploma, both applying as full credit toward an associate degree. Instruction covers Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, and Flux Cored Arc Welding, along with metallurgy, blueprint reading, destructive and non-destructive testing, welding procedures and qualifications, fabrication, and pipe applications. Classes meet Monday through Thursday, and the program is described as having small class sizes with limited, admission-based enrollment in facilities the college describes as fully equipped labs with industry-standard tools.
