What this program covers

Southeastern Community College's welding pathway, offered only at the West Burlington campus, progresses from a Basic Welding Certificate through an Advanced Welding Certificate, a two-semester Welding Diploma, an Advanced Manufacturing Welding Certificate, and a five-semester AAS degree. Processes taught include MIG, TIG, and stick welding, plus oxyacetylene and flux-cored arc welding, and pipe welding. SCC operates as an AWS-accredited testing facility and prepares students for the AWS certification exam. The program is eligible for Iowa's Last-Dollar Scholarship.
