What this program covers

Midwest Technical Institute offers a 7-month Welding Program (720 clock hours plus 180 outside hours) and a 10-month Welding & Pipefitting Program (960 clock hours plus 240 outside hours). Both cover SMAW, GTAW/TIG, GMAW/MIG, and FCAW (flux core) processes, with daytime and evening classes (varies by campus). Students can earn eight MTI welding certifications covering bevel plate work and various pipe configurations (SCH. 40 and SCH. 80) including stainless steel pipe welding. Training occurs in a weld shop environment led by instructors with real-world experience; the school is ACCSC-accredited and financial aid is available to qualified students.
