What this program covers

Indian River State College's Welding Technology program (Career and Technical Education) covers SMAW (Stick), GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG), and FCAW (Flux-Cored) welding along with metal preparation, fabrication, and blueprint reading. The program totals 1,050 hours, offered as a day program (10 months, Aug-June, Mon-Fri 8:30am-3:30pm) or night program (12 months, Jan-Dec, Mon-Thu 5:00pm-10:30pm), with about 75% of training in the lab. Students can pursue AWS certifications for multiple alloys, structural and pipe, at the college's AWS testing site. Financial aid options and scholarships are available for eligible students. Held at the Eastman Workforce Complex, Fort Pierce and Port St. Lucie campuses.
