What this program covers

Shelton State Community College's welding technology program offers an AAS degree, a certificate, and a short-term certificate. Full-time AAS/certificate students take three to four consecutive fall-start semesters at 15-19 credit hours each; the part-time short-term certificate track offers evening courses year-round at 6-9 credit hours per semester over five to six semesters. The program covers various arc welding processes, pipe fabrication and repair, welding codes, and blueprint reading, and provides welder certification training; one instructor holds an AWS Certified Welding Inspector credential. Classes are held at the Martin Campus Welding Shop.
